Pericom Releases Enhanced Performance PCI-to-PCI Bridges with Asynchronous Mode Support
SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Pericom Semiconductor Corporation , a worldwide preferred supplier of high-performance integrated circuits and frequency control products, today expanded its PCI-to-PCI Bridge portfolio with six new enhanced devices that support multiple end markets including Networking, Computer, Industrial, and Video Surveillance.
The new PI7C8150A/8150B and PI7C8152A/8152B products are performance enhanced 32-Bit, 2-port PCI-to-PCI Bridge devices supporting both 33 MHz and 66 MHz. The B devices offer asynchronous mode support. Asynchronous mode allows customers to run the secondary bus at a frequency that is not derived from the primary bus thus providing far greater support for next generation design applications.
"This new product launch reinforces Pericom's commitment to providing industry leading support for PCI-Bridges. Adding asynchronous mode support is significant as customers engineer newer faster designs that need to merge with slower legacy devices," explains Steve Lam, Product Marketing. "We are also committed to next generation technology such as emerging PCI-X and PCI-Express standards. Pericom's award winning customer service, with a dedicated PCI-Bridge application support team, and a worldwide technical sales force makes for a powerful combination," Lam continued.
Key Benefits and Features:
-- Asynchronous mode support
-- 32-Bit/33 MHz or 66 MHz
-- Intel compatible
-- Support for 9 secondary bus masters (4 secondary bus masters w/8152x)
-- 5V and 3.3V signaling
